Heartsaver First Aid with CPR & AED is a classroom-based course that is designed to teach basic emergency first aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and how to use an automated external defibrillator AED

?Who should take the course
This course was designed for anyone who needs to learn basic first aid, how to perform CPR and how to use an AED. This includes designated first responders, employees, students, and anyone who wants to learn how to be able to respond to a first aid or cardiac emergency, which could save a life.
:Course Features
Developed using the most current resuscitation and first aid science from the American Heart Association (AHA) Guidelines for CPR and Emergency Cardiovascular Care
Incorporates the AHA’s research-proven Practice-While-Watching (PWW) method of instruction for CPR, which improves student learning and retention
Practice and skills test are included in the course

The modular format allows the instructor to tailor the course length which ranges from 6.5–7.5 hours
Ideal for individuals who prefer group interaction and feedback from an instructor while learning skills

?What does the course cover
:Upon completion of the course students will be able to
Explain what first aid is and who has a duty to give first aid
Will know the signs of a person with a breathing problem and know how to respond
Will know how to save an adult, child, or infant who is choking
Be able to use an epinephrine pen for someone who needs assistance
List the first aid actions for bleeding and how to stop bleeding
Provide first aid for bites and stings
Administer CPR to an adult, child, or infant
Use an AED
